Ekphrasis and Poetry Exchange

Ekphrasis is an Ancient Greek practice of writing poetry that is inspired by a world of art, in the way John Keats did in 1819 with "Ode to a Grecian Urn". What we have been doing is sharing either a work of art or a poem. First the Afghan students challenged us with "When I Die" by Rumi 13th c. and Invictus by William Henley in 1875. The poems were chosen by the Afghan's and the art is by students at Canyon Crest Academy.
